Multivac Marking & Inspection is set to exhibit a new labeler for pharmaceutical packs at Fachpack 2013, which takes place from 24 to 26 September in Nuremberg, Germany.
The new folding carton labeler seals the tuck-in flaps of folding cartons with a label, making sure that packs have tamper evidence, by which consumers can detect immediately whether the pack is unimpaired.
Using an inte-grated printing system a data matrix code for serialization can be printed on the tuck-in flap.
According to the company, the labeler labels from above and below at an output of up to 400 cycles per minute.
The labels are pressed on over the edges subsequently, so that the tuck-in flaps are sealed properly.
A light barrier monitors the presence of the sealing labels. Cartons without sealing labels are separated out and ejected into a lockable reject bin.
The labeler, which is equipped with a Wolke thermal inkjet printer, can also be integrated with an additional label dispenser for applying a vignette label from above.
Designed to meet the requirements of the pharmaceutical industry, the balcony-type installation enables all functions of the labeler to be operated from the front.
