Xenics NV of Leuven, Belgium - a manufacturer of infrared detectors, cameras and customized imaging solutions covering the spectrum from long-wavelength infrared (LWIR) to the visible (0.4-14μm) – says that it is broadening its international marketing and sales force, increasing its management staff and placing a stronger focus on North and Latin America. Hervé Copin has been appointed CEO of Xenics USA Inc in Boston, MA. Francky Demeester will take over as chief sales & marketing officer worldwide in Leuven.
Hervé Copin has been appointed CEO of Xenics USA Inc after serving for more than two years as European sales manager and substantially increasing the reach of Xenics' distribution network across Western and Eastern Europe. He is now in charge of further broadening the firm's competitive positions throughout North and Latin America, extending the sales channels in both areas.
Copin has a masters degree in physics from the Catholic University of Louvain, focusing on solid material science and electromagnetic optics, and a masters degree in Economics from the University of Namur. He has worked as product manager specialized in optical components, spectral measurement and colorimetry for a European-based laboratory equipment supplier. From 1997 to 2005 he was sales manager in charge of material testing equipment at Buehler Ltd in Illinois, USA. Before joining Xenics in 2011, he was VP of sales for the Belgian frame grabber vendor Euresys.
Additionally, Myriam Gillisjans (up to now, Xenics' marketing manager in Leuven) will relocate to Xenics USA in Boston as marketing manager for North and Latin America. In her new position she will be in direct proximity to Xenics' growing customer base in the Americas, as the firm commits substantial resources in a major shift of its marketing activities from Europe to the USA.
As the new chief sales & marketing officer worldwide in Leuven, Francky Demeester will strategically guide Xenics' sales force in various world regions to realize the firm's next level of growth. He comes to Xenics from a major international player in the imaging industry, where he was senior VP of sales. During his career he has acquired expertise and a professional background in organizing and supervising high-tech sales activities worldwide.
"Xenics is poised to be a major world player in its chosen fields of business, delivering high-quality standard and custom products based on well recognized science and research, and supported by its high-class manufacturing and assembly capabilities," believes Demeester.
"We are delighted to have Hervé Copin and Francky Demeester taking on new lines of duty in markets that are very important to us," comments founder & CEO Bob Grietens. "They are the best persons to significantly expand our market share in the world and in the Americas."
