RSA has signed an agreement with Rotterdam-based underwriting firm Charterama to jointly market and distribute Charterers’ Liability cover on a global basis, effective from 1 November 2012.
Under the terms of the agreement, RSA will provide capacity of up to $100m, while underwrite business in this field will be performed by Charterama.
RSA's Global Marine director Richard Turner said that the new agreement will expand the company's involvement in the marine liabilities market.
Charterama co-founder Evert Margry said, "Charterama, however, is exclusively committed to the charterers market and offers a dedicated alternative to the P&I market."
Focusing on general insurance, RSA has operations in the UK, Scandinavia, Canada, Ireland, Asia and the Middle East, Latin America and Central and Eastern Europe.
