The Government of Tamil Nadu has announced a 20 percent subsidy to spinning mills and cotton yarn manufacturers.
Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa said the subsidy will cost Rs. 120 million per annum to the state exchequer.
She said the subsidy is aimed at encouraging production of cotton and yarn in the state.
In addition, the initiative will benefit weavers as well as spinning mill owners, according to a government release.
