Nearly 130,000 of Figo, Classic Models Are Recalled by Ford India

Ford India, the subsidiary of US carmaker Ford Motor, is recalling about 130,000 of its Figo and Classic models due to manufacturing defects which include issues related to steering and rear suspension.

According to carmaker, the vehicles produced between January 2008 and December 2010 have been equipped with faulty rear twist beams which could disrupt the vehicle's brake performance.

The move also includes recall of 17,655 Figo and Classic cars, manufactured from September 2010 to February 2011 for replacing a PAS Hose, as the faulty hose would lead to oil leakage, adding noxious fumes, smoke or even fire in extreme cases.

Ford India also said that the recall also affects some of Figo and Classis cars which were exported to South Africa.
