It is reported that JFE Steel announced it will build in Indonesia the first continuous galvanizing line (CGL) for cars. The new galvanizing line will be constructed and operated by JFE Steel's wholly owned subsidiary Pt. JFE Steel Galvanizing Indonesia. It is said that the projected annual capacity will be 400,000 tons with production thickness ranging between 0.4mm to 2.3mm and width between 800mm to 1,850mm. The total investment will come to US$300 million with production scheduled to commence around March 2016. For the Japan-based JFE Steel, this new galvanizing line for automobiles in Asia will be their third, with others in China and Thailand.
