According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's cold rolled steel coil and sheet exports totaled 233,619 metric tons in November 2012, falling by 3.9 percent month on month and down 14.4 percent compared to November 2011.
In the first 11 months of 2012, Japan's cold rolled steel exports decreased by 16.5 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, amounting to 2.9 million mt.
In the first 11 months, China was the largest cold rolled steel export destination of Japan, totaling 963,325 metric tons, down 17.7 percent compared to January-November 2011, while exports to Indonesia and Thailand amounted to 367,019 mt and 360,047 mt respectively, falling 4.7 percent and down 12.9 percent, both compared to the same period of 2011.
