Highline Mushrooms,an Ontario-based food company,is voluntarily recalling its Sliced White Mushrooms as they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes,according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency(CFIA).
The recalled products include Highline Mushrooms and Compliments sliced white mushrooms,sold in 227g containers bearing lot code L4100805 and a best before date code 12AU15 with UPC codes 7 71163 00005 2 and 0 68820 10090 4 respectively.
Highline Mushrooms said the products have been distributed in Ontario and may have been distributed in other provinces across Canada.
No illnesses have been reported in association with the consumption of these products,it added.
Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious or life-threatening food borne illness in a person who consumes a food item contaminated with it.Symptoms of infection may include fever,muscle aches,gastro intestinal symptoms such as nausea or diarrhea.
