Finnish timber-giant UPM-Kymmene achieved an improved operating profit of m in its Forest and Timber business division in spite of lower sales and shipments in the third quarter. Without consideration of extraordinarycosts for the ongoing restructuring process the operating profit even jumped to m. On the other hand, turnover at 64m was 10% lower than in the same period of last year, which was mainly due to lower shipments. Lumber shipments dropped 9% to 382.000m³. The lower shipments are partly related to the restructuring measures facing the Timber and Living business units that were decided in April. Source: euwid-wood-products
