Shermco Industries' Employees to Round up Donations and Loads of Toys for Children

Shermco Industries' employees are building a new tradition of rounding up donations and loads of toys for under-privileged children. Last year was Shermco's second year with the toy drive for WFAA's Santa's Helpers headed by Chief Meteorologist Pete Delkus. Having donated $8000 worth of toys for the cause in 2012, almost double the previous year, this year Shermco employees started early with the hopes of making the $10,000 mark.

The 2013 Toy Drive is November 29 through December 20, 2013, but Erick Earp, a Shermco employee, says his team has been working on the project for several weeks already.

"We know what we collected last year, and we're having fun trying to push past that to an even bigger figure," said Earp. "It just makes you feel good to know that every contribution helps bring a smile to a child's face on Christmas day."

WFAA's Santa's Helpers is celebrating its 44th year of collecting holiday toys for more than 50,000 children throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth counties of Dallas, Tarrant, Collin and Denton.
