French automaker Renault has selected Sevcon to provide Gen4 controls for its new Twizy two-seater,electric city car(EV).
Renault said that Twizy offers a range of 100km(60 miles)with the single 3.5 hour battery charge.
The new EV is being offered in two variants,which include the versions with top speeds of 28 and 50 miles per hour respectively and are powered by Sevcon Gen4 Size 2 and Size 4 motor controllers.
Sevcon's microprocessor-based devices deliver the power from the EV's lithium-ion battery to the motor,control acceleration,speed and regenerative braking while enhancing energy consumption.
Sevcon has delivered the initial volume shipments of Gen4 Motor Controllers for Twizy City Car in March and the EV is currently on sale.
