Microsemi Introduced Le9540 and Le9541 for Voice-Over-Broadband Cable Applications

Le9540 and Le9541 include features that allow product developers to add voice capabilities to DOCSIS and Euro-DOCSIS 3.0 modems

Semiconductor applications provider Microsemi has introduced Le9540 and Le9541, the two new subscriber line interface circuits (SLICs) for voice-over-broadband cable applications.

The new SLICs offer low-power consumption and are built on a high voltage process technology, the company said.

Le9540 is a dual channel SLIC while Le9541 is a single channel SLIC.

Microsemi's new SLICs include features that allow product developers to add voice capabilities to DOCSIS and Euro-DOCSIS 3.0 modems.

They allow product developers to design multiple products for various markets based on a single platform and minimises bill of material cost.

The Le9540 and Le9541offers an interface with DOCSIS and Euro-DOCSIS 3.0 cable gateway SoC as well as it is compliant with European Commission's Code of Conduct on Data Center Energy Efficiency.

Microsemi Voice and Power products group vice president Jacques Issa said the new SLICs make VoIP services affordable to deploy and operate by lowering bill-of-material and power consumption costs through a combination of unique features.

"The communications market, including solutions for VoIP products, is a key focus for Microsemi. We will dedicate the resources required to further strengthen our portfolio and position in this segment," Issa said.
