The Bird Flu Erodes Demand of Soybea

Tags: soybean, bird flu

Chinese demand of soybean used in feeding poultry and livestock will continue to decline because of the breakout of bird flu.

China takes 60% in global soybean trading. Influenced by concerns of food safety and large-stock, the amount of China's imported soybeans had declined by 13%, which will influence the upward trends of soybean futures in Chicago.

Chinese government has culled thousands of birds to prevent the spreading out of H7N9 virus.

The decline of China's imported soybeans will impact the price of soybean futures in Chicago. Chinese purchases of soybean takes almost one fourth of global production. However, influences by the tight supplies of soybean in America, soybean futures showed their greatest weekly gain since September.
