All Printing Resources (APR) has purchased and installed Bobst M5 digital flexo press at its Glendale Heights, Illinois technical center in the US.
Featuring easy drop-in Bobst Ready technology, the eight-color BOBST ‘unlimited substrate’ press is designed for fast changeovers and interchangeability of flexo, screen and hot foil decoration.
In addition to allowing for complete automation of the printing process, the M5 digital flexo system enables consistency of constant digital adjustment to offer extremely precise colors with minimal waste.
APR said it serves as only demo facility for Bobst in the North American marketplace for narrow web presses, Labels and Labeling reported.
APR president and CEO Dave Nieman was quoted by the publication as saying: “Process control is a significant issue for narrow web converters. Our research shows that presses are down more than 30% of the time and that on average flexo presses have six to seven changeovers per shift.
“This makes the ability to optimize job-to-job repeatability and color matching essential.”
APR said that the Bobst M5 installation is intended to help narrow web converters develop and fine tune production best practices including process control, optimization and color matching, reported packagePRINTING.
Nieman added: “With the installation of the Bobst M5 press at our technical center, we can help teach our customers the process controls they need to have in place including color management and extended gamut printing.
“This is the only demo press Bobst has in North America and is a real asset to the work we do with our narrow web clients on an ongoing basis.”
