Ford Is Planning to Sell Ach Lighting Business and Plant to Ventra Sandusky

US carmaker Ford Motor and Automotive Components (ACH) has agreed to sell ACH's automotive headlamps and taillights business and ACH plant based in Sandusky, Ohio to Illinois based truck part supplier Ventra Sandusky.

Ford has not disclosed the value of the deal and said that the transaction is expected to be completed by June 2012.

The parts facility is one of two residual of a group of 17 facilities and six other operations, which the company has been trying to sell since October 2005.

Automotive Components Holdings was formed by the US carmaker to temporarily operate the plants.

Following the completion of transaction, Ventra Sandusky will operate the ACH automotive lighting service parts operation in Bellevue, Ohio.

The carmaker said that the sale represents its expansion of business with minority-owned suppliers.
