Turkey's Chrome Ore Exports Decreased by 18.91 Percent to 303,300 Metric Tons in Jan-Feb

In February this year, Turkey's chrome ore exports amounted to 156,465 metric tons, down 4.65 percent compared to February 2013 and up 6.56 percent compared to the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The revenue generated by these exports totaled $36.32 million, up 11.16 percent year on year and increasing by 10.03 percent on month-on-month basis.

Meanwhile, in the first two months of this year, Turkey's chrome ore exports decreased by 18.91 percent to 303,300 metric tons, while the value of these exports fell 7.97 percent to $69.48 million, both on year-on-year basis.

In the first two months of the current year, Turkey's largest export destination for chrome ore was China, which received 283,884 mt, down 22.75 percent year on year. Sweden followed China in the period in question, importing 50,098 mt of chrome ore from Turkey.
