Taiwan-based BIOS designer Insyde Software has announced consolidated revenues of NT$82.48 million (US$2.81 million) for September, flat on month but down 32.78% on year, with consolidated revenues for the first nine months of 2013 reaching NT$691 million, down 19.85% on year.
Weak PC demand has affected Insyde's revenue performance, but the company continues accelerating the development of its UEFI- and Android-based platforms in order to lower the proportion of PC-related businesses, with some market watchers expecting the company's sales to turn stable in 2014.
Insyde has recently launched two new platforms, the InsydeH2O and Android x86, supporting Intel's Atom E3800 (Bay Trail) and Celeron processors. The new platform will be suitable for devices such as points of sales (POS) systems, car and transportation equipment, energy/power management systems, digital signages and rugged tablets.
