Intel Has Launched The Software Development Kit for Open CL Applications XE 2013

It was launched as a beta programme in December 2012

Intel has launched the software development kit (SDK) for Open CL Applications XE 2013 integrated development environment (IDE) for Windows and Linux.

Aimed at supporting the firm's graphics processing units (GPU) as well as Xeon and Xeon Phi Coprocessors, the new SDK expands options for developers on Intel architecture and includes tools, optimisation guides and training.

In addition, the SDK would assist OpenCL developers to enhance performance and efficiency on Intel Xeon Phi coprocessors and Intel Xeon processors.

Developers can also create enhanced parallel applications for high performance computing workstations, data analytics and other deployments.

The Windows version of Intel's SDK for OpenCL Applications XE 2013 IDE will support its GPUs along with Xeon and Xeon Phi chips, while it will not support GPUs on the Linux version of the IDE.
