Genevac has rolled out its latest fully automated evaporator the Rocket 4D, for automatic drying or concentration of large volumes in one operation.
Using the new system, which does not require any user interaction, an operator can just load a sample and choose a method, while the remaining activity is carried out by the device, claims the technology firm.
Based on vacuum technology, the compact system lessens problems related with sample loss such as solvent bumping and foaming-when using large-scale rotary evaporators.
Available as a single, 5lt 316 stainless steel vessel for drying or concentrating product, Rocket 4D has removable handles and can be easily lifted into and out of the evaporator.
Dried products can be shoveled out, and if enhanced user protection is required, the same will be re-dissolved while the vessel is still in the system.
Using a drain port on the side of the rotor, liquid products can be easily drained, according to the firm.
The system is equipped with an 'Autofeed' option, which allows users to dry volumes larger than five litres using the machine, which draws products from the user's own external supply.
In order to ensure hassle free cleaning, the Rocket 4D is fitted with PTFE feed tubing, wich is easily detached for cleaning or replacement and the vessel can be readily cleaned, wiped, inspected and even put in a dishwasher.
It has the capability of powerful cold traps, which increase solvent recovery and saves the environment and improving drying of samples.
