Italy's new car registrations amounted to 108,419 units in February, down 17.4 percent year on year, as announced by the Italian automotive industry association Anfia.
“Market demand is still extremely subdued, as the new registrations figure is slightly lower compared to that of February 1983,” commented Anfia president Roberto Vavassori.
In the first two months of the current year, Italy’s new car registrations fell 17.3 percent to 222,406 units compared to the first two months of 2012, when the volume of new registrations had already recorded a 17.6 percent year-on-year decrease.
