Tags: Loblaw, Recall, Food

Canadian food retailer Loblaw is recalling stoned wheat crackers as it may contain sesame which is not mentioned on the label.

The product subject to recall is 200g PC Organics brand Original stoned wheat crackers bearing UPC number 0 60383 70928 0 with code 2015 JA 21.

This product has been sold to various Loblaw banner stores across Ontario, Atlantic, Québec, and West since 25 July 2014.

So far, no illnesses have been reported to be associated with the recall but authorities warn that consumption may cause possible health risk in people allergic to sesame.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products.

CFIA will notify the public through updated Food Recall Warnings, if other high-risk products are recalled.
