Eagle Boys pizza is trialling new technology which will allow customers to use a “virtual drive-thru” when ordering pizza online or through its mobile app.
The virtual drive-thru will let customers order pizza at home before driving to the store. Once in the car-park of the store the customer can notify the store that they have arrived through the app or website and a team member will bring out their order.
Eagle Boys CEO Nick Vincent said the technology is aimed at parents who have kids in the car or when they do not want to have get out. He said it is also ideal for when the weather is bad or just for anyone who does not want to leave their car.
Eagle Boys started trials of the new technology in the Townsville regional areas of Deeragun. Fairfield Waters, Kirwan and Vincent this past weekend. The service is at no-extra cost to customers.
The virtual drive-thru technology was developed over the past 18-months by Eagle Boys using Australian technology company Delivery Command.
Eagle Boys says if the trial is successful, the technology will be rolled-out Australia-wide.
