Outokumpu and German-Owned Inoxum Will Formally Start Operation

According to report, the Finnish stainless steelmaker Outokumpu and German-owned Inoxum will formally start operation as one company under the name of Octokumpu, effective January 1st, 2013.

The new Outokumpu will become the world’s largest stainless steel maker. The total capacity is expected ahead of China’s Tisco and South Korea’s Posco about exceeding 3 million tons of capacity. The annual capacity for flat rolled stainless will be about 4 million tons.

Outokumpu will have stainless cold rolling operations in Europe, North America and China, including high performance alloy plants in Europe and US.
