Australian establishment Newstart Heath Supplies has recalled raw apricot kernels from apricot seeds as they contain high levels of hydrocyanic acid, according to the Food Standards Australia New Zealand.
The product associated with the recall is 1kg Aprisnax Australian Raw Apricot Kernels packaged in black food-grade stand-up pouch, which is best for use before November 2015.
The recalled product has been distributed through the company's online store and health food stores across the nation.
Consumption of food containing high levels of hydrocyanic acid may cause illness.
The regulatory body has already issued a warning to consumers to avoid consumption of the product and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
