With the GGS 28 LP Professional, Bosch is launching the first straight grinder with deadman switch onto the market. The tool runs only when the safety mechanism is permanently pressed. If you let go of it, the machine immediately shuts down. Bosch therefore offers a tool that enables safety engineers in the industrial sector to meet the increasingly high requirements of work safety because the user has complete control over the straight grinder at all times. Wide range of applications and long tool life The GGS 28 LP Professional is designed for applications that are subject to high safety standards, particularly in refineries, on oil platforms, in crane and ship building, and in tank and container construction. The tool offers 500 watts of power and has cut-out carbon brushes that ensure a long lifetime of the straight grinder. Due to its long grinding spindle, the tool is also suitable for demanding applications in hard-to-reach areas. The applications range from deburring sharp edges through to grinding surfaces. A speed of 29,000 revolutions per minute ensures that this work is done quickly. The low weight of only 1.6 kilograms helps to make the tool very comfortable to use. The GGS 28 LP Professional’s features are completed by a hardened clamping unit that ensures a secure and lasting hold on the accessory, ball bearings sealed on both sides that minimize servicing needs, and an extended cable grommet that prevents cable breaks. The GGS 28 LP Professional straight grinder will be available at specialist retail outlets from May 2012 onwards at a price of 349 euros plus VAT. It comes complete with a six-millimeter collet. Collets with a diameter of up to eight millimeters are available as accessories. Source: bosch-presse.de
