Electric Cars May Not Have a Chance to Become Standardized for Another 5-10 Years

Electric cars may not have a chance to become standardized for another 5-10 years since the products are currently still facing several issues such as high prices, safety concerns and immature support systems, according to sources from cmakers.

The establishment of recharging stations and power grids is essential, and so far no country is yet completely prepared to fully adopt electric cars, the sources noted.

Currently, automobile makers in Europe and the US are both aggressively developing electric cars, leaving Taiwan makers only little space for development. Despite the fact that China has not yet had unified standards and specifications, Taiwan makers will still have a better chance in China and can start cooperating with local players over development.
