According to a report by Global Investment House (GIH), cement prices in Oman have seen a 13% year-on-year fall in the first nine months of 2011, and fell 19% since the year ended 2010, the largest decline among other GCC peers, Times of Oman has reported. Omani cement makers are pressured by their UAE competitors, who supply cement at a lower cost to the Sultanate, GIH said. Cement prices in Oman fell to $64.4 per tonne in the first nine months of 2011 from $74 a tonne in the same period a year ago, the report said. Source: uaecement.com
