Central European OSB prices remained under pressure at the start of 2012, as they had been in the final quarter of 2011. As a result, prices for large-volume orders and individual projects, in particular, have continued to slide. OSB prices for business with merchants thus had to be revised downward little by little. Most manufacturers tried to keep their price lists unchanged for as long as possible, instead lowering their prices on an order-by-order basis through discounts and by amending conditions. Notwithstanding this situation, several manufacturers intend to reverse the trend in prices during the first quarter and are thus preparing to raise their prices for deliveries from March or April.
