Metinvest Has Announced That Military Action in Avdiivka and Yasinovataya

Ukrainian mining and steel producing group Metinvest has announced that military action in Avdiivka and Yasinovataya in Donetsk region has disrupted the company's supply chain, threatening the finished steel output at its Azovstal and Ilyich Iron and Steel plants.

Metinvest stated that it is considering alternative routes for raw material shipments to its plants, also possible changes at its mining and processing operations. The company might focus on export of raw materials since iron ore shipments from 30 warehouses have been suspended.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, Metinvest's Avdiivka Coke subsidiary was hit by artillery as a result of armed hostilities. Several shells hit the company's core production shops. During repairs, coke production at Avdiivka Coke will be halved and the company will substitute coke supplies from Avdiivka with products from the group's other coking facilities, such as the Dniprodzerzhinsk and Yenakiieve coke plants and Azovstal's coking batteries.
