A BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe Was Spotted Testing in Germany

BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe: Four-Door Spied with M Sport Pack

A BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe has been spotted testing in Germany equipped with an M Sport performance pack.

The 4 Series Coupe-based four-door test car is finished in the brand’s classic Estoril Blue paint and wears identical light camouflage to the standard 4 Series Gran Coupe spied last month.

With a heavily sculptured, deeper and more aggressive front bumper, sharply styled side skirts and an equally sporting rear bumper, the BMW M Sport pack would seem to bridge the gap between the base car and a likely M4 Gran Coupe – the latter mirroring the 6 Series Gran Coupe‘s spawning of the M5-engined M6 Gran Coupe.

Graced with new wheels, dual exhaust and a larger brake package compared with the previously seen car, the M Sport pack also seems to bring with it a slightly lower ride height.

The BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe maintains much of the standard 3 Series coupe-replacement’s styling, though, with a slightly longer roofline and two additional doors.

The brand’s smallest Gran Coupe is expected to match the engine line-up of the 4 Series coupe – a model just launched locally from a revised $69,500 starting point. This means a range of turbocharged diesel and petrol four-cylinder and turbocharged 3.0-litre six-cylinder units all partnered with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The M Sport pack should join the standard BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe in its anticipated 2014 debut.
