Morgan Foods Is Voluntarily Recalling 94,850 Pounds of Corn Chowder Soups

Morgan Foods, an Indiana-based food company, is voluntarily recalling 94,850 pounds of corn chowder soups as they are likely to contain foreign materials.

The firm is recalling four types of corn chowder soups after it received complaints from two customers, who found pieces of a marker pen in the product.

The soups, sold in 18.8 ounce cans, include Hill Country Fare Chunky Chicken Corn Chowder; Wegman's Chunky Chicken Corn Chowder; Chef's Cupboard Chunky Chicken Corn Chowder; and America's Choice Chicken Corn Chowder Chunky.

All the recalled products carry a best-by date of 01 March 2014 stamped on the bottom of the can and were produced on 29 February 2012.

The cans were distributed to retailers in trays of 12 and carry a case code of B2912 on the tray and bear establishment number of P-1469 inside the USDA mark of inspection on the label.

Hill Country Fare Chunky Chicken Corn Chowder was distributed to retail stores in Texas; Wegman's Chunky Chicken Corn Chowder was distributed to retail stores in New York; Chef's Cupboard Chunky Chicken Corn Chowder was distributed to retail stores in Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin; and America's Choice Chicken Corn Chowder Chunky product was distributed to retail stores in Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
