Global retail prices of LED light bulbs dropped slightly in June with the ASP of 40W equivalent LED light bulbs falling 4.5%to US$19.9 per unit,while those 60W equivalent bulbs were down 2.3%to US$32.7,according to data from LEDinside.
The ASP of 40W equivalent LED bulbs in the US and Germany dipped by 10.7%and 9.6%,respectively,in June,indicating increasing competition in the two markets.
The lowest prices of the 40W equivalent bulbs in the US dropped to below US$10 for the first time,to US$9.9,LEDInside said,adding that some Energy Star-certified 40W equivalent LED bulbs offered by first-tier vendors were lowered to US$10.97 in the retail channels.
Also in the 40W equivalent segment,the ASP in Japan slid 1.9%to US$20.6 and those in Korea fell 0.5%to US$15.8.In the UK,the ASP dropped only 0.3%.
Meanwhile,prices of 60W equivalent LED bulbs slipped 5.6%to US$27 and those in the UK edged down 0.4%to US$39.9 in June,said LEDInside,adding that those quoted in Germany declined 4.2%during the month.
