The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation is the first accolade handed to the young company that continues to explore micro-tech through 3D modelling, printed circuit board prototyping and firmware development.

“We are extremely passionate about drones and working in a fast paced industry,” said Vernon Kerswell, founder an hardware architect of Extreme Fliers.

“We build products that we love to fly ourselves and our customers are our biggest fans. Although we are a small team, each of us is an expert in our field based around this product.

“Recognition from the Queen is a tremendous honour and allows everyone involved in Micro Drone’s development to be proud of our progress so far. It is so encouraging and is just the beginning of a journey that is rapidly unfolding.
