According to statistics released by Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF), Japan's shipments of cold rolled (CR) steel sheets and strips totaled 517,941 tons in January, rising by 4.4% from a month ago and increasing by 4% year on year.
Among them, 53% were made to domestic market and the remaining 47% were made to export markets.
In January, the country's inventories of CR sheets and strips totaled 690,173 tons, rising by 4% from a month ago while falling by 1.75% year on year.
Meanwhile, the domestic prices for CR sheets and strips averaged at 78,000/ton yuan, remaining flat form a month ago while falling by 8,000/ton yuan year on year.
