US-based leading wine producer and distributor E & J Gallo Winery has agreed to acquire sparkling wine producer J Vineyards & Winery.
Established in 1986 by Judy Jordan, J Vineyards & Winery is located in Sonoma County's Russian River Valley in California, the US. The firm produces a wide range of sparkling wines such as Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris.
Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Gallo premium wine division senior vice president and general manager Roger Nabedian said: "We are very excited to add the J Vineyards & Winery brands to our premium portfolio of wines. The brand's contemporary elegance has a unique position in the marketplace.
"J Vineyards & Winery is well known for their award-winning sparkling wines and we look forward to carrying on the winery's reputation of making elegant, luxurious wines."
Founded in 1933, Gallo has nine wineries across California and Washington. The latest acquisition will expand its market presence and properties in California's north coast wine region.
The acquisition will include the Healdsburg winery and more than 300 acres spread over nine vineyards within the Sonoma Coast and Russian River Valley region.
Gallo produces sparkling and still wines, and imports wines and spirits from nine countries. Some of its brands in the wine portfolio include Gallo Family Vineyards, Barefoot Cellars, Apothic and Louis M. Martini.
J Vineyards & Winery founder Judy Jordan said: "Over the last 30 years, I have created and built J Vineyards & Winery from a small sparkling wine house to an iconic luxury brand producing not only sparkling wines but also award-winning Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris.

San Francisco-based investment bank Demeter Group has acted as exclusive financial advisor for J Vineyards & Winery on the deal.
