US-based dairy company Chobani has opened a $450m yogurt manufacturing facility in Twin Falls, Idaho, US.
The 1000, 000ft2 facility will enable the company to boost the production of its Chobani branded yogurt and strengthen its ability to bring product innovations to the market.
The Twin Falls is the company's second domestic manufacturing facility, after its plant in New York.
Chobani founder, president and CEO Hamdi Ulukaya said that Twin Falls is the company's second facility, but will not replace the Central New York plant, which will continue to operate at full capacity.
"In fact, we will continue to grow and invest in our New York operations," Ulukaya added.
The new facility has created 300 new jobs. Additional people are expected to be hired over the next several months.
Chobani broke ground on the 200-acre site in December 2011 and initiated construction earlier this year.
Chobani offers yogurt products that are Kosher-certified, gluten free, made with milk free of rBST, and offer twice as much protein as regular yoghurt, five live and active cultures, and three strains of probiotics.
Agro Farma, based in New York, was founded in 2004 and it sells products in the US, Canada and Australia.
