Some Saudi Cement Makers Have Taken Advantage of The Grace Period

Some Saudi cement makers have taken advantage of the grace period that preceded the start of the ban on cement export to export large quantities of the binding substance, Arab News has reported. Following the ban, Al-Jouf Cement Co said it had increased its prices to SR260 per tonne from SR200, to reduce the losses it might incur as a result of the ban. The commerce ministry said it stopped exports in order to put an end to the cement crisis, and asked factories to produce at full capacity to provide enough cement for the domestic market.
