The Apparel Shops Will Be Opened by Peru Gammara Traders in Iquitos

The traders of Peru’s Gammara garment emporium want to open clothing shops in the city of Iquitos, in the Loreto province of the country, and have scheduled meetings with the regional government of the province in this regard.

Manuel Yto, president of the Peruvian Association of Industrial Tailoring Gammara (APIC), said the Iquitos market is quite attractive and the Gammara entrepreneurs wish to supply clothing they produce in the city, reports Peruvian news agency Andina.

The goal is to open shops in Iquitos and the Gammara entrepreneurs want to discuss this with the regional government of Loreto, which has assured it would provide help, he added.

Mr. Yto said the opening of Gammara clothing shops in the city of Iquitos would also help the entrepreneurs to export clothing to the Brazilian city of Manaus, which is the venue for football World Cup 2014.

The clothing manufacturers are very interested in the market of Loreto and are also planning to facilitate production workshops in the city, he added.

According to Mr. Yto, the potential of the city’s market was discovered during the ExpoAmazonica 2013, which caught the attention of many Gammara traders who now wish to foray into the market.

The APIC chairman said the entrepreneurs with support from the regional authorities aim to set up shops and stores in the region, and the APIC would continue its meetings with the regional government in order to meet the objective.
