Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is the Canadian government department responsible for monitoring and enforcing the Energy Efficiency Regulations, which provides minimum energy-performance levels for all kinds of energy-using products, as well as the labelling of energy-using products and the collection of data on energy use. All of regulated products imported into Canada for sale or lease, or shipped from the province of manufacture to another province (inter-provincial shipment), shall meet the energy efficiency standard set out in the Energy Efficiency Regulations. NRCan requires these regulated products to bear an energy efficiency verification mark from a certification body accredited for energy efficiency verification by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC).
In January 2012, TÜV SÜD was officially accredited for energy efficiency verification by SCC to certify the following product categories: Standby for Electronic Products, Digital TV adaptors, External Power Supply, Luminaires and Lamps, etc.
Under this recognition, TÜV SÜD is able to provide Energy Efficiency Verification services to help you comply with NRCan requirements. TÜV SÜD is also an EPA recognized certification body for ENERGY STAR® and can provide package service about energy efficiency in North America, such as ENERGY STAR, NRCan, DOE and CEC.
As a leading global testing and certification organization, TÜV SÜD is a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) in the U.S. and an Accredited Certification Organization for safety by SCC. With the expanded recognized scope for energy efficiency by SCC, TÜV SÜD is able to provide one-stop services for clients in Greater China who export their products to North America.
