The revised Renault Megane CC range now starts $9000 cheaper than before, priced from $36,990.
A new entry model for the four-seat hard-top Megane 'Coupe-Cabriolet' includes 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, full glass electric roof, dual-zone climate control, cloth trim and automatic headlights and wipers.?As before, the single powertrain option is a 103kW 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT).
The price cut means the Renault Megane CC undercuts the Volkswagen Golf Cabrio, which is available for $37,490 in six-speed manual form or $39,990 with a seven-speed dual clutch automatic. The VW is a soft-top, although it gets a substantially more powerful 118kW 1.4-litre turbocharged and supercharged engine.
Fellow French hard-top rival the Peugeot 308CC, meanwhile, is priced at a substantially higher $50,990 for the 1.6-litre turbo petrol with six-speed manual.
Two new higher-spec models have also been introduced in the Renault Megane CC range – the $41,990 GT-Line and $43,990 Privilege.
The GT-Line includes 17-inch alloy wheels, leather trim, heated front seats, satellite navigation and GT-Line design and badging tweaks. The Privilege further gets 18s, bi-xenon headlights and a wind deflector net.
