Global beverage can manufacturer Rexam has collaborated with brewing company SABMiller to manufacture a new range of innovative can designs for the non-alcoholic beer brand, Birell.
The cans will feature Rexam's value added thermochromic inks and matt over varnish. The thermochromic inks sports the unique colour-changing feature, where the ink changes its colour when the beverage reaches the ideal temperature for consumption.
The matt finish over the varnish also lends a soft touch to the product.
Speaking about the partnership with Rexam, Birell brand manager Petr Kouble said: "Product differentiation is key for Birell and we knew we could rely on our established relationship with Rexam to deliver. We worked together to develop a creative range of new designs that will stand out in a competitive market place and that our customers will love."
Rexam will produce these cans in 500ml capacities at the company's Enzesfeld plant in Austria. The products will be ready for sale in Czech Republic in spring 2015, with Birell targeting adults with an active lifestyle.
