Rubbermaid has developed new food storage container, FreshWorks Produce Saver, to help extend the life of the produce.
The FreshWorks Produce Saver is designed to keep the produce fresh up to 80% longer when compared with traditional produce packaging.
It features a FreshVent Lid which comprises a membrane that naturally regulate the oxygen and carbon dioxide flow in order to create the optimal environment required to keep the produce fresh.
Additional features of the FreshWorks Produce Saver include CrispTray which helps keep moisture away from produce to reduce spoilage.
The container is developed in three sizes to hold all types of produce including small (2.5 Cups) for small berries, medium (6.3 cups) for strawberries and large (17.3 cups) for leafy greens.
Rubbermaid said it will launch the "Long Live Produce Challenge" on 13 June to test and prove the benefits of the FreshWorks Produce Saver.
Mom Trends editor and founder Nicole Feliciano will launch the challenge.
Nicole Feliciano said: "I'm challenging all Americans that pride themselves on feeding their family fresh produce to change their existing grocery routine and join me for the 'Long Live Produce Challenge' to see just how much longer you can make your produce last!"
In 2011, Rubbermaid launched the first glass food storage containers with Easy Find Lids for meal planning.
