China is considering to invest CNY4.8bn ($763.72m) on building electric-vehicle charging stations by 2015.
In line with country's 12th five-year plan on energy conservation and emission reduction, the China Southern Power Grid Company will build EV charging stations in five provinces this year and increase the EV stations near highways.
China Southern Power Grid Company is aiming to reduce 300 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions and 100 million tonnes of coal by 2015 as part of the plan.
The construction and emissions reduction work is expected to be completed by 2015 and is planning to reduce its emissions to 0.2 tonnes of coal or less for every CNY10,000 ($1,591) of owned property.
State Grid, an electric utility company in China, has built 156 charging stations and 6,252 charging posts in several cities of the country last year.
