American softdrink company Dr Pepper Snapple (DPS) has acquired Davis Beverage Group and Davis Bottling for an undisclosed amount.
The transaction provides DPS with a 42-county distribution territory in eastern Pennsylvania, excluding the Philadelphia area, as well as western and central New Jersey.
The companies signed a letter of intent in September.
Davis Beverage distributes 7UP, Snapple, A&W, Canada Dry, and Sunkist, while Davis Bottling bottles carbonated soft drinks including IBC, Stewarts, and Crush.
The firm also distributes other non-carbonated products such as Bai5, FIJI, Vita Coco and Neuro.
Davis Bottling currently bottles carbonated soft drinks in PET package sizes, and produces IBC, Stewarts and Crush in glass bottles and Orangina in 1.75l PET for DPS on a contract basis.
DPS said the expansion builds on the company's efforts to strengthen its route to market, improve operating efficiency and leverage its integrated business model.
DPS Packaged Beverages president Rodger Collins said: "As we blend their (Davis businesses) proud heritage and experience with our own history of flavor leadership and excellence in execution, customers in Pennsylvania and New Jersey can look forward to receiving great brands delivered with outstanding customer service."
Davis' employees have joined the workforce of DPS.
