The Latest Estimate of Cotton Crop Production by Ccac Is Not Updated,According to PCGA

The latest estimate of cotton crop production for the current season released by the Cotton Crop Assessment committee (CCAC) is not updated, according to Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA).

In its latest report, CCAC has pegged Pakistan’s cotton production at 13.3 million bales.   Speaking to fibre2fashion, Mr. Mahesh Kumar, chairman of PCGA said, “The CCAC made crop assessment before November 15, 2012 and then projected the country’s cotton production at 13.3 million bales.”   “This time, the committee has released the same figures without any updation,” he adds.

According to PCGA, Pakistan’s cotton production during the 2012-13 season is likely to be around 13 million bales.   In its earlier meeting, prior to the latest one, the CCAC had upwardly revised the estimated cotton output to 13.3 million bales, from the previous projection of 12.66 million bales.   However, all projections are unanimous that Pakistan’s cotton output during the current season would be less than last season’s production of 13.59 million bales.
