Land Rover, the British manufacturer of sport utility vehicles (SUV), has unveiled the 2013 Range Rover SUV ahead of its debut at the upcoming 2012 Paris Motor Show in France.
For the US market the new 2013 Range Rover SUV will be powered by an upgraded 5.0L V-8 engine that is claimed to be about 700lbs lighter than similar outgoing models.
The new V-8 engine will be mated to the eight-speed ZF automatic transmission that is expected to generate an output of 375hp in standard models and 510hp in supercharged models.
Land Rover has also developed new aluminium front and rear chassis architecture for the SUV, which is paired with a redesigned four-corner air suspension.
The new SUV is designed and engineered at the carmaker's development centres in the UK and will be produced at a new manufacturing plant in Solihull, UK.
The new vehicle will be launched in over 160 markets globally, while its sales in North America are expected to begin in December 2012.
