Ford Motor of Canada has partnered Best Buy to provide the owners of Focus electric vehicle with a home charging station.
Under the plan, the company will offer 240-volt home charging station for Focus EV and the upcoming plug-ins in Canada.
Best Buy Martin merchandising exclusive brands and new business director Caines said,"Our partnership with Ford is the first step towards being able to offer our customers in-home energy management services which will help Canadians reduce the cost of electricity throughout their homes."
According to company the home charging station, with 32-amp charging capability, will facilitate the owners to fully charge their Focus EV and other cars in three to four hours.
The new charging system can be plugged into a 240-volt outlet and can be unplugged and plug back in operation after the vehicle gets completely charged.
Ford said that the charging station will be priced at $1,599, while Best Buy will provide a complete installation service through Geek Squad.
