China has recorded 5.2% rise in auto sales in April when compared to the same period last year, while auto production has increased 7.81% during the period.
According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the country has sold 1.62 million units of the total 1.65 million units manufactured, when compared to 1.4 million units sold in March.
Sales during the first four months of the year rose 1.9% to 5.05 million vehicles, while the total sales declined 1.3% to 6.42 million units.
China's commercial vehicle production declined 0.85 to 1.36 million units when compared to the year ago.
Despite the decline in the country, US carmaker General Motors has reported that it has sold 227,217 vehicles in China in Aprilmarking 11.7% rise when compared to the corresponding period the previous year.
The association is expecting the auto sales in China to increase 8% to 10% this year.
