Samsung Is Reportedly Planning to Buy The Mobile Memory Chips From Rival SK Hynix

For its new flagship Galaxy S smartphone to be launched in April

Samsung Electronics is reportedly planning to buy the mobile memory chips from rival SK Hynix to use them in upcoming products.

The company plans to use the chips in its new flagship Galaxy S smartphone, which is expected to be launched in April.

According to the company, a supply deal would give a boost to SK Hynix, which supplies Apple mobile dynamic random access memory (DRAM) chips, according to Reuters.

With the purchase, the company also refers to reduce the chip supplies as mobile gadget makers prepare to upgrade their flagship product lines with greater variety and improved memory storage capacity.

The decrease in the supply of the mobile DRAM chips has resulted in the increase of prices early this year.

Samsung, the maker of DRAM chips, has largely depended on internal supplies of memory chips and is expected by the market to look for external chip suppliers to have continuous supply for its Galaxy S smartphone models.
