Spanish ICE and Textile Federations Ccoo and Ugt Have Reached an Agreement

The Spanish Intertextil Council (ICE) and textile federations CCOO and UGT have reached an agreement, which will be signed in the coming days, related to wage increase for the period January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2013.

The agreement has been reached through negotiations that stretched over a two-year period and will affect 125,000 workers in the Spanish textile and clothing industry.

As per the agreement, wage increase of 0.8 percent will be retrospectively applicable in 2011, 0.69 percent in 2012 and 0.6 percent in 2013.

For the next contract, both parties have agreed to begin negotiations in September 2013.

The knitwear segment of the Spanish textile and clothing sector, however, has been excluded from the agreement.
